How to change the app icon

Do you know that you can change your app icon?

There are currently a few to choose from and they’re really easy to switch around!

Reminder: This feature is not available for web users. It only works on the app.

You can change your icon by 2 ways.

The first way is through your Super Duolingo/Max Duolingo dashboard. Tap the owl on the right corner.

Then tap on turn on in the “Super Duolingo Icon” box.

Go back to your phone’s home screen, the icon should be changed to Super Icon.
The second way is by the Streak Society. Tap on the fire (Streak) at the top. Tap enter now(mobile) or scroll down(ipad) and tap on change app icon button.

Choose your icon.
Then go back to home screen, the new icon should be updated.

Super icon

The Super icon is a special perk available to all Super Duolingo users. It’s available from the Super Duolingo dashboard.

The Super Duolingo icon is the Duolingo owl but with a galactic green, blue and purple hue.

Streak Icon

The Streak icon (also known as the Streak Society icon) is a special perk available to all Streak Society members. It’s available from the Streak Society dashboard.

The Streak icon is the Duolingo owl — but with a firey finish!

Max Icon

The Max icon is a special perk available to all Duolingo Max users. It’s available from the Duolingo Max dashboard.

The Duolingo Max icon is the Duolingo owl but with a futuristic black finish. It also sports hints of the green, blue, and purple hues Super Duolingo icon.

Party Icon

The Party icon was a special edition Duolingo icon. It differed from the previous icons as there was no way of activating it, it just randomly appeared for certain users.

Originally it was only available to Duolingo beta app users. However, Duolingo rolled it out to all mobile users in early February 2023, before discontinuing it a short time later.

What did it mean? I have no idea! I remember searching all over the internet and no one from Duolingo seemed to confirm anything.
